The Yucatán molly is endemic to the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico, from coastal lagoons, mangroves and cenotes. It is the molly with the most developed male sail fin. It is vulnerable in the wild but has been introduced to several countries. Widely bred and crossed to produce aquarium varieties. A livebearer.
