White-Spotted Cichlid

A cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika, from rocky areas in the north of the lake down to 30 metres, where it grazes algae from the rocks. The female mouthbroods the eggs. It is vulnerable: the population is small and in high demand by the aquarium trade. It reaches 12 centimetres. Its name honours the limnologist Jean Dubois.
