Trichopsis schalleri
No photo yet
A small croaking gourami from the Mekong basin (Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam) and the Chao Phraya, from vegetated swamps, rice paddies and still waters. Like its relatives, it produces sounds with its pectoral fins. The male, larger and with longer fins, builds a bubble nest. Its name honours the German aquarist Dietrich Schaller.
