Pygmy gourami
Trichopsis pumila
No photo yet
The sparkling gourami from the lower Mekong and Thailand lives in still waters with plenty of floating plants, sometimes oxygen-poor — it breathes air. It eats zooplankton and aquatic insects. It makes sounds with its pectoral fins. The male is more colourful and builds a bubble nest. Popular in the hobby.
