Trichogaster chuna
No photo yet
The honey gourami lives in the Ganges and Brahmaputra basins (India and Bangladesh), in densely vegetated ponds, ditches and flooded fields. When breeding the male turns bright orange with a dark underside. It builds a bubble nest, and the male tends the eggs alone. Peaceful. Trade fish are farm-bred, in varieties such as red and golden.
