The knight goby from South and Southeast Asia (India to Indonesia) lives in estuaries and tidal river stretches, mostly in fresh water. It eats small fish and invertebrates. It is territorial. The male has a taller dorsal fin; the female is yellowish. It spawns on cave ceilings, up to a thousand eggs.
