The blackline rasbora lives in the Mekong, Chao Phraya and Mae Klong basins and the northern Malay Peninsula, in ponds, ditches, canals and shallow reservoir margins. It eats zooplankton and insects. Popular and hardy. The female is slightly larger. It scatters its eggs with no parental care.
