The Guyana leaffish comes from northeastern South America (Venezuela, the Guianas, Amapá) and Trinidad, from clear or turbid, sometimes brackish, heavily vegetated waters. It mimics a dead leaf to ambush small fish, insects and worms. The male guards the eggs. It reaches about 6 centimetres.
