Amazon molly
Poecilia formosa
No photo yet
The Amazon molly, from northeastern Mexico and southern Texas, has only females. It arose from a cross between the sailfin molly (P. latipinna) and another molly. Females mate with males of related species, but the sperm only triggers egg development without passing on the father's genes (gynogenesis).
