The Congo tetra comes from the Congo River basin and is very popular in the hobby. Omnivorous. The male is larger and more colourful, with an extended dorsal fin and tail. It scatters its eggs among plants with no parental care; they hatch in about six days. Most fish sold are farm-bred.
