A killifish from the eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East (Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Iraq), from shallow waters with vegetation and algae. It eats algae, insect larvae and small crustaceans. It spawns in the warm months. It is not an annual killifish.
