The arc-eye hawkfish is a marine fish from tropical Indo-Pacific reefs, from Africa to Hawaii. It has a horseshoe-shaped mark behind the eye. It perches on heads of branching corals, waiting for shrimps, crabs and small fish. It reaches 20 centimetres.
