Bronze featherback

A featherback from South and Southeast Asia, from lakes, floodplains, canals and slow rivers, that sometimes enters brackish water. Active at dusk and night, it hunts fish, crustaceans and insects. It reaches 60 centimetres. In the rainy season it lays its eggs on submerged vegetation in flooded areas. It is an important food fish. It is the only member of its genus, but probably comprises several species.
