Melanochromis chipokae

A mbuna from Lake Malawi known only from around Chipoka Island, from sandy patches among rocks. A predator, it eats invertebrates and small fish. Collection for the aquarium trade has crashed its population, and it is critically endangered. The female mouthbroods the eggs.
