The kenyi is a mbuna endemic to the Mbenji Islands in Lake Malawi. Unlike most mbuna, the adult male is yellow and the female pale blue with dark bars. The female mouthbroods the eggs. The male is one of the most aggressive of all mbuna. It is named after the importer John Lombardo. It reaches 12 to 13 centimetres.
