Celebes rainbowfish
Marosatherina ladigesi
No photo yet
The Celebes rainbowfish is endemic to Sulawesi, Indonesia, from around Maros, from streams and estuaries of fresh to slightly brackish water. It is the only member of its genus. The male has elongated dorsal and anal fins. It scatters its eggs and breeds easily. Collection for the trade has reduced wild populations, and the species is vulnerable; it is now farm-bred.
