Diamond tetra

The diamond tetra is endemic to Lake Valencia and its tributaries in northern Venezuela. The male is slightly larger, with more shining scales and long fins with a violet sheen; the female's are almost transparent. It is named after the naturalist Henri Pittier. Threatened by urbanisation. It reaches 6 centimetres.
