A fish from the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo that reaches 1 metre. In the wet season it moves into flooded forests. It eats seeds of poisonous fruits and can become toxic to eat, yet it is a highly prized food fish. Fish sold under this name in the hobby are usually its Mekong relative Leptobarbus rubripinna.
