Lamprologus callipterus
No photo yet
A cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika, famous for the size difference between the sexes: the male is much larger, because it collects empty snail shells, and the small females spawn inside them. Young males roam in large schools, scouring the bottom for invertebrates and other fishes' fry. It is considered poorly suited to aquaria.
