Tanganyika killifish

The Tanganyika killifish is the largest of the lampeyes, endemic to Lake Tanganyika. It lives in large schools along rocky shores and also in open water. Only the male is colourful, with shining blue scales; the female is silvery and smaller. The eggs are laid in rock crevices. It has been introduced to Lake Kivu. It is delicate in the aquarium. It reaches 12 to 15 centimetres.
