Blue mbuna

A mbuna endemic to Lake Malawi, from shallow rocky areas, where it scrapes algae with its downward-facing mouth. Territorial; sometimes it forms large schools that raid other species' algae 'gardens'. The male is larger and more colourful. The female mouthbroods the eggs.
