Dolphin cichlid
Krobia itanyi
No photo yet
The dolphin cichlid comes from the creeks of the Maroni River in Suriname and French Guiana: small, shallow, slow creeks with rocky, silty bottoms. It eats small crustaceans and insect larvae. The male is slightly larger and more colourful, with longer fins. The pair cleans a flat stone and spawns about 500 eggs, which they defend vigorously. It reaches about 12 centimetres.
