Flagfish
Jordanella floridae
No photo yet
The American flagfish is endemic to the Florida peninsula, from shallow vegetated waters — marshes, canals and ditches — sometimes slightly brackish. It eats small invertebrates and algae. It is in the Guinness Book of Records as the fish that lays the fewest eggs: about 20 over several days. It is not an annual killifish.
