Hepsetus odoe
No photo yet
The African pike characin is a predatory characin that hunts by ambush, hidden in vegetation. It prefers river stretches where tigerfish are scarce. The pair builds a large foam nest among surface plants and guards it until the larvae attach to it; then they leave, and within about four days the nest breaks up. It is a game fish in its region.
