Arowana Tetra

The arowana tetra is the only member of its genus, from the Amazon and Orinoco basins. A small predator with protruding teeth, it eats mainly insects. It is silvery, with a black-and-red blotch at the base of the tail and red in the eye. It is named after the Austrian ichthyologist Franz Steindachner. It reaches 5 centimetres.
