Blue lyretail
Fundulopanchax gardneri
No photo yet
The blue lyretail from Nigeria and Cameroon lives in streams, swamps and pools in savanna and forest. Its eggs can survive a dry spell but also hatch under water, in two to three weeks — which is why it is called semi-annual. The male is larger, more colourful, has longer fins and is territorial.
