The celestial pearl danio (galaxy rasbora) comes from Myanmar, from a small area near Inle Lake, over 1,000 metres up, in the Salween basin. It lives in shallow, heavily vegetated ponds. Discovered in 2006, it became an instant hit in the hobby. The male is deep blue with pearly spots and red-and-black fins; the female is greener. It reaches about 2 centimetres.
