Frail gourami
Ctenops nobilis
No photo yet
A gourami from northeastern India, Bangladesh and Nepal, the only member of its genus, from clear, slow, heavily vegetated waters. It hunts small invertebrates. The male mouthbroods the eggs: the female gathers them and spits them to him. Adults become aggressive towards their own kind. It is sensitive to shipping stress and often arrives weak in the trade.
