One of the smallest Corydoras, about 3.5 centimetres, from the upper Orinoco in Venezuela and Colombia, from floodplain wetlands with leaf litter and vegetation. It breathes air at the surface, absorbed through the gut. Peaceful, it lives in groups. It is now in the genus Hoplisoma.
