One of the world's smallest cyprinids, up to 2.5 centimetres, from the Malay Peninsula, southern Thailand, Sumatra and Singapore. It lives in slow, acidic forest streams linked to peat swamps. Peaceful and schooling, it eats tiny worms and crustaceans. It scatters its eggs with no parental care.
