The tinfoil barb from Southeast Asia lives in rivers, streams, canals and ditches and enters flooded fields. It exceeds 30 centimetres. It eats mainly plants and algae, but also small fish, worms and crustaceans. It lives in schools and only suits very large aquaria with similarly sized fish. It scatters thousands of eggs.
