Dewindt's Cichlid

A cichlid from Lake Tanganyika and the Ruzizi and Lukuga rivers, the only member of its genus. It lives in schools of hundreds over sandy bottoms and eats plankton. Males have yellow and blue stripes. The female mouthbroods the eggs. It reaches about 14 centimetres.
