Nijssen's Dwarf Cichlid

A dwarf cichlid endemic to Peru, known only from the blackwater creeks of the Copal River in the Ucayali basin. When guarding eggs, the female develops large dark patches — hence the name 'panda'. The female guards the eggs; both parents guard the larvae.
