A killifish endemic to the Azraq oasis in Jordan, from shallow water with vegetation and stones. It nearly vanished through water extraction and introduced fish; it was rescued by a captive-breeding programme and is critically endangered. It eats insect larvae and crustaceans and breeds in spring.
