Threadfin acara

The threadfin acara from the Amazon and Essequibo basins has free, elongated rays at the back of the dorsal fin. When breeding, females dig burrows in the bottom, with tunnels leading to a chamber where the eggs are laid. It has been introduced to Singapore.
